Getting Around The Local Area By Bike

Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from Spring Wood Park.

A cycle ride into the local centres of Headingley and Horsforth will take around 25-minutes, where you’ll find an array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Those working at Leeds Bradford Airport could also enjoy a commute by bike in just 15-minutes, along some pleasant rural roads.

Many of the local roads are classed as advisory cycle routes on the West Yorkshire cycle network. Within around a 15-minute cycle from the site you can be on route 668 of the National Cycle Network (NCN), which runs from Alwoodley into Leeds city centre. The route is around 5 miles long and takes just under 30 minutes to ride from one end to the other
